As your Trauma

Therapist

I see that you're used to holding it together for everyone else.

But the calls replay at night. Sleep won't come after long shifts. You're short-tempered when you finally get home, and the people you love can tell something's off, even when you say "I'm fine." You keep going because that's what you do, but it's costing you more than you let on.

I understand, because I live close to it.

I'm married to a firefighter and paramedic. I've seen what this work brings home, for the person on the job and for the family waiting for them. With me, you won't have to explain it.

How we'll work together

My own healing started in nature. Using EMDR and time outdoors, we'll quiet what keeps replaying, help your body rest, and get you back to feeling like yourself. We'll go at your pace, on a mountain trail or over secure video from home.

When you're ready, I'm here.

Summit is a 4-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever and a certified therapy dog. She's brave and adventurous, always up for a trail or something new. Since I don't offer traditional in-office sessions, Summit joins us for outdoor sessions, where she's right at home. She has a gift for meeting each client's energy and checks in with you along the trail, offering comfort when you need it and brightening up when there's room for lightness. Sweet, warm and steady, Summit helps make therapy feel a little more grounded and a lot more welcoming

Get to Know Me: Life Outside Therapy in Evergreen, CO

My Story

Hi I’m Tess Prince Harris,

I know what it's like to hold it all together while quietly falling apart.

For years, I white-knuckled my way through childhood trauma and grief. I lost my father at 16, my grandfather at 22, and my brother at 25, and I grew up around addiction and mental illness. I kept going, kept busy, and kept it all bottled in.

Nature, running, my dogs, and my of course my husband kept me steady. But fall of 2025, a psilocybin journey showed me how much grief I was still carrying. That's when I started my own EMDR work.

Facing your demons is hard. Letting them go is worth it.

I don't do this work because I have it all figured out. I do it because I know healing is possible, and I've lived it.

You Don't Have to White-Knuckle It Anymore

If you've been holding it all together for too long, you don't have to keep doing it alone. Whether you're carrying grief, childhood trauma, or the weight of a hard job, we can work through it together at a pace that feels safe for you, outdoors in nature or through secure online sessions.

My values as a therapist

Healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and supported. At VidaMinds Mental Health, these values shape every session, whether we're meeting outdoors in the Colorado mountains near Evergreen or connecting online.

Client-Centered

You are the expert on your life. Therapy is a partnership, so together we set goals that matter to you and move at a pace that feels right, building a path forward that reflects your values and strengths.

Compassionate

I believe growth takes courage, and you deserve to be met with kindness. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard and deeply respected, so you can explore trauma, anxiety or life transitions with warmth and understanding.

Guidance

No one should navigate change alone. Whether you're facing a career shift, a relationship ending, a move or the path to parenthood, I offer steady guidance through life transitions, helping you find clarity, confidence and your next step.

Welcoming & Inclusive

Everyone belongs here. We welcome all identities, backgrounds and life experiences, offering affirming, culturally responsive care where you can show up exactly as you are.

Healing Through Nature

Healing shouldn't be confined to an office. Time in nature is shown to lower stress, lift mood and restore focus, which is why outdoor therapy and ecotherapy are central to my evidence-based care

Supporting Responders

I believe those who protect others deserve protection too. I honor your service with first responder therapy that understands the calls and weight you carry.

Animal Connection

Healing begins with feeling safe and accepted. My girl Summit offers both, without judgment or expectation. That calm presence lowers stress and builds trust, which is why animal-assisted therapy is a meaningful part of the care I provide.
