HI, I’M TESS

Originally from the Midwest, I now live in Bailey, CO with my husband and our four dogs and two goats.  Colorado is home now,  and I have enjoyed every moment of it. Most of my free time is spent in nature and that is where my own healing journey with trauma began.

Since starting my career in psychotherapy I’ve always connected with a more humanistic approach.  Realizing that I could begin a career where I can put my love for helping others and combine that work with nature has been truly inspiring.

Through the profound wisdom of nature, and the unconditional presence of animals, I’ve found strength, growth, and empowerment in the very places where I once felt pain. My vision is to offer others what I never had—a sanctuary for healing, connection, and hope.

I believe that healing is about making deep changes in the way we live and relate to world around us.

Adolescents

I work with those who are struggling with the following…

  • Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes constant or overwhelming, it can interfere with daily life. It may show up as excessive worry, restlessness, or physical symptoms like a racing heart. With the right support and tools, anxiety can be managed and reduced.

  • Depression is a common mental health condition that affects how a person feels, thinks, and functions. It can lead to ongoing sadness, fatigue, and a loss of interest in things once enjoyed. While it can feel overwhelming, depression is treatable with the right support.

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and trauma can develop after experiencing or witnessing a deeply distressing event. They may lead to flashbacks, emotional numbness, heightened alertness, or avoidance of reminders. Healing is possible through supportive, trauma-informed care that helps individuals process and reclaim a sense of safety.

  • Coping skills are strategies and techniques people use to manage stress, emotions, and challenging situations. They can be healthy tools like deep breathing, exercise, or talking to someone, and help build resilience and emotional balance in everyday life.

  • Grief is a natural emotional response to loss, often involving sadness, confusion, anger, or longing. It’s a deeply personal process that can come in waves and take time. With support and space to heal, grief can lead to meaningful reflection and emotional growth.
